Sort of, there is a bit of a lull when the outside temp doesn't drive a high demand. This is the time for scheduled maintenances though....

Been in the business 35 years and never saw anyone laid off because of a slow season. Work in a big City and you'll be busy all year round.

 

Commercial HVAC has less seasonality than residential. And refrigeration has less seasonality that A/C.

One very interesting thing I've noticed through the years is that, unless it is very cold or very hot, work often tends to slow down in the four weeks preceding April 15th.

 

If the company you work for has a lot of maintenance contracts, you can stay busy all year for the most part. And of course the local climate can affect business patterns.

Over the winter, I had my hours cut back some for about a month when we ran out of contracts to fulfill, but it levels out when we put 14 hours in on extremely cold days.
