for the price:value ratio I'd have to say Caterpillar boots, they are only 80 dollars and I've had a pair since September last year and they've held up to constant use, only downside is that steel toes get really cold! If I anticipate a very "wet" job (roof puddles) then I put on my waterproof rubber boots.

Oh, and hello forum! I'm glad to make my first post.

I been using these, Dr Mertens. I been looking at the Caterpillar Duncan for my next boot.

I'm on my 3rd pair of Dr. Martens in 3 years. They are the most comfortable full leather shoes I've worn. I can't do boots...
The first pair is not worn out I just scuffed them up and got them too dirty. I wear them at home working around the house. The second pair I still wear, the 3rd pair I just bought to have a different color.

I did have a pair of Colehaan's that lasted 10 years. I don't know what the sole was made of but it just didn't want to wear out.

+1 to redwings I have 2812 had them for 2 years. They are gortex. The sole is starting to wear now. Most comfortable boot.Apparently you can purchase a new sole from Redwing and get a shoemaker to install.

Just got a pair of the American made Thorogoods last week. They seem to be good so far. Run about a 1/2 size small and I think I should have went with a wide. But other than that I'm happy with them. They have that white wedge sole. Vinbranium I think it's called. Doesn't clog up with mud and rocks and has good grip on these Spanish tile roofs they love so much out here in so cal.

How are they working out? I am always trying to go American made and I feel you about those Spanish tile roofs out here.

guess im the only one who buys cheap walmart shoes every 6 months and puts a good insole in them.... lol but im also doing service and have no worries of carrying or dropping heavy stuff on my feet. i get the steel toe sneakers from walmart

Rocky SV2, black, polishable leather and nylon uppers. Arc Blast/Arc Flash rated. Light weight. I have been wearing them year round outdoor in temps. from 25F to 110F. They don't have a safety toe, however.

I have been wearing Keens for the last 5 plus years and have wanted to try these Atlanta's but have worried about how they will hold up. Any Feedback on how long they hold up?
Digging up old threads, switched from keen to Oboz, find them to be much lighter and more comfortable. Waterproof to the extreme, would recommend. Going on one year for my second pair.
