This is currently what I'm using - https://www.ebags.com/product/ogio/renegade-rss-17-pack/253007?productid=10241452&cat=laptop-backpacks&country=US&currency=USD&ebcpkey=keywords&couponid=94790994&sourceid=ADWPRODUCTB&adtype=pla&gclid=CjwKCAjw7MzkBRAGEiwAkOXexGnMBkGMhXprg8GZXf73e9H-xlfP_g1WISjzhOJQxB4Wgqb8x2zkPBoCHFAQAvD_BwE

I'm in the market for something different. It's the third one that my employeer has gotten from me, but I'm just going to search for something else. The damn shoulder straps break on the thing every time. Also would be nice to have different storage, since this seems to not be built to hold hand tools. Anyway, just curious to see what you guys are using out there so I have a few products to check out. Thank you!

I will mention that the one thing I really like about the one I have been using for three years is that there's a compartment that looks like it's made for glasses, but I use it to store and protect my mouse. So whatever I get, I'd prefer to have a hard case built into the bag for that.

Veto and Klein both make laptop toolbags that will hold hand tools. Both are well made. I’m a little partial to the Veto.

I sell both. The Veto is far superior in construction and twice the pricetag.

Haven't carried a backpack in a few years. Switched to rolling bags, but when I did I almost always used Swiss gear. They always lasted and usually had enough room for some tools.

I've started carrying Klein's general purpose 25 pocket bag, it seems sturdy so far. Its pretty light weight overall. The only downfall is it does not include a dedicated laptop/iPad pocket.

Last three have been Maxpedition.

Carry Ideal tool bag. Strap broke and picked up a Kline bag all the pockets and the zipper broke in about 1.5yrs. Got a new strap and put my Ideal pouch back in service about 2months ago

I can see how it would push people away. It does not bother me, heck I even have my Veto MB Tool Bag attached to one of the upper side loops my tech pack. It is kind of like backpack-ception, as my backpack as a smaller backpack riding on it :)

Pelican urban elite w/ dewalt tool pouch inside for tools.

Work issues us Targus laptop bags. Currently it’s the Ascend (I think, it’s the closest can find on their website).
So far so good. I’ve had this one almost a year & while the front stash pocket has a couple of points where it’s trying to hole, so far nothing has worn through or broken.

In terms of tools I keep my Fluke meters & Fieldpiece meters in their brand meter bags. Pliers, a 4” adjustable spanner & cutters move between whichever meter set I’m using & a Wera screwdriver set clips on.
That lot all fits easily in the main compartment.
