Screw that, I'll take today.
Only a couple hundred years ago or so Lewis and Clark were exploring the west, too bad they found California.

I like where we are today. I just can't imagine what the future holds. I just hope for the sake of our children that world peace is in there somewhere.

I did it dice, not bad for somebody from ca.
Anyway this is going to be a second story add.(masterbedroom & bath, thats all)But all the doorways & windows have to be framed in box iron with welded corners & bolted to the fondation. The second floor ridge beam is boxed iron with welded hangers for the rafters.
This is all for sismic bracing.

Seismic bracing .... what a mess.

They go so far overboard on that stuff that is makes the job almost impossible to accomplish.

Their a total nightmare to do.You should see the basement with shear walls under every upstais wall.Try to design duct work with all that stuff in your way.Every welded joint had to be inspected, x-rayed & certified.

GEEEZE, too much work. It would be easier to let the quake do it's damage and then rebuild.

Come to Iowa where "anything goes".....for the most part. :D
