Can someone point me to a site that has an installation manual for a Trane XV 90 Gas Furnace.

I am looking for the specs on venting the furmace. The bricklayers will be there on Monday and I would like to get some sleeves in the wall.

Thanks, Tom

Check with the professionals that you will hire/have hired to install it. They can tell you. If this is a new home, do you have plans- specifically the mechanical/HVAC drawings that show it, or is this an "add-on" over a builder model furnace during the construction process?

Are you going direct vent or concentric? You really need them to do it, extra turns could require you to up size the line. If they pic the spot then if they are off it is on them. If you are off, you get to pay the extra.

I am a Professional

Thanks guys, I am a Licensed Electrical- HVAC contractor and have been in business for 23 years.

I don't do any residential work and am not familiar with the venting of the high efficiency furnaces.

I haven't purchased the equipment yet as we are just in the rough in stage. This is my home that is going to have a 3 zone system. I have posted other threads about my Manual J, D and T results.

I can get this info Monday morning but I wanted to be ready when the bricklayers started Monday. Anyone!

Thanks, Tom

80k btu allows for 2", 2 1/2" or 3" depending on length and amount of elbows. also the concentric for the 3 inch is 4 1/2". not sure if you are running seperate pipes or concentric with 1 roof penetration. Also there is a direct vent option as well.

just use 3" sch. 40 pipe as your sleeve. 2 of them if you are going direct vent.

stay away from that Trane termination for through the wall, it dripps water on your house.

Thanks.

What are the restrictions for distances from windows with direct vent?

Is concentric better than direct vent? I assume concentric has a concentric fitting on the exterior that clamps on a 3.5" PVC.

I looked at some today that terminate in a Y fitting before going outside. Don't quite get that but I will do some research.

Thanks all!

3ft to be safe, but I know it is less. You need to get the installation pdf on line. @Trane.com. You can input your dealer number and get all the info you need.
