Any more info on that thing like type of refrigerant? Can't tell from picture if it's air coed or water cooled?
old units are really interesting.

I have worked on similar units like that years ago in the Boston area. They used R-12. Compressors were directional due to oil pump. It could only pump oil one way. Compressor sheave was also designed to blow air onto the compressor taking heat away from the body.

That's right, it like a fan blade. Also the springs are a nice touch. Next time I'm there I will get some pictures of the controls.
