Forget Cosco. Are they going to service it after the install?

Call around and request a quote for a new A/C “System”. The most important thing is how they size it. If they measure the home, windows, doors. Ask many questions concerning your comfort and expectations then there the contractor you want. If they come in size like for like, measure nothing then you don’t want them.

Recommendations from family, friends, church or social groups.

Angie’s list, BBB, and other similar sites are worthless.

The installing contractor is the most important decision you have to make.

We currently have a hydronic air handler. Yes, they are hooking the air handler up to our existing oil burner.
I don’t know why the quotes are not the same. The costco quote has to be for Lennox equipment, so maybe they that’s why?
You have a Hydronic Coil attached to a oil fired furnace.

Ever source is the electric provider. 2700 sf, more on 1st floor than second, I estimate 1100 up and 1600 down. Probably less than 700 sf of glass? 2 sliders, 2 bay windows, double hung windows everywhere else. House built in 1997.

How do you compare electric usage in kw to gallons of oil? I’d love to know how to do a comparison. I didn’t think heat pump was really an option because our electric rates are so high, but I like the hybrid idea.
Even on the Isl of long with .27 per Kw a heap pump is worth the investment!
