Trouble commissioning a JENEsys Edge 534

I am trying to commission a Edge 534 controller, and Probuilder is giving me an error in the commissioning process that simply says " Required Software cannot be installed". That's it. Not even the pitiful explanations Tridium is so fond of.

I get as far as the enabled Runtime Profiles, and am not installing a station in the process. so it is trying to go to the "Install/Upgrade modules" page, but never gets there.

I am using 4.8.0.110.5, because the station has Program blocks that aren't signed.

Has anyone run into this error before, and if so, what fixed it?

There are specific versions the edge series will accept and I don't think 4.8 is one of them? There are also supplemental software downloads for them on lynxspring. The oldest one they have posted is JENEsys Edge Download for N4.9.1. I was actually looking for the clean distribution files for those to see what versions they were but they don't seem to post them now. Probably have to reach out to support for that. I have one in my lynxspring install for 4.7 and 4.10 but I don't have 4.8 installed.

Good morning Duncan!

My name is Charles Johnson. I'm Lynxspring's Lead Trainer (Certified Niagara Trainer as well) and Technical Engineer. I help out in the Support Department from time to time as well. Tridium doesn't support nor would have documentation on the Edge 534 because it's not a JACE 8000 or Edge10 Controller. On the resource website, (https://resources.lynxspring.com), we have downloads for 4.9u1, 4.10u4, and 4.11u2. If you're going to upgrade a JACE/JENE/Edge 534, you don't want to just upgrade new modules. You'll want to commission the JACE/JENE/Edge Controller or CleanDist it and commission. Either way is acceptable.

Having said that, with the Edge Product Line specifically, you'll need all the modules, dist/conversion files, and core files (which you get from the resources site.).

Here's also how to sign your own program objects. It's not as difficult as you think!

If you require further assistance, you can message me directly or email lynxspring support and we will be glad to help you!
