Its either massive overkill
or the land crabs there are very resourceful.
For something like this it makes no sense to argue with the inspectors about it.
Thats what they want
thats what they are gonna get

We generally dont do ductboard
most all of our work is metal
keeps the tin knockers busy:p

I have a great aunt that lives in your neck of the woods
guess I should get over to see her soon
and use that as an excuse to stay a few days in Daytona
always love hitting the east coast of the state

Nice looking job! Looks like someone was thinking about service down the road. Most people would have jammed the service panel against the wall! i have used unistrut and all thread rod to anchor the condensers,it dosent look as neat as the straps but it is easy to get out of the way for service. Good Job!!

The job looks great. One thing I noticed is the filter driers. Do these units need them? Trane usually factory installs a copper-spun filter drier within the unit, so probably don't need them. I'm not sure if these units are any different.

Nice iron! But question... what ya got against see through cleanable traps? Like the EZ brand... Or just the see through with els and a cap? make cleaning a ton easier!

Cleaning is considered a maintenance item and not covered under our warranty.
Also we are at the will of the mechanical inspectors who will only pass certain things.
Like down in Miami - Dade
they make us put float switches inside the pan on package units.
Can you believe that
inside the pan of package units on the roof
we have to find the smallest ones we can and still have to bend some fins back
to get them in

LOL.... dont worry... we have inspectors who think they know it all too!
like a secondary trap incase the primary clogs.... but of course... it wont fill with water unless the pri blocks up.... till then you suck air into the unit! (from a hot attic!)
