I found out I have an IQ of 129. Anyone else ever taken one before, and what was the score?

Never took the IQ test but I did score 28 out of 32 for the ACT college intrance exam. So in case you don't know thats pretty darn good.:D

The following is personal opinion, not to be construed as fact unless I actually take the time to research my numbers sometime in the future.

IQ tests are only effective for children between the approximate ages of 8 to 14, if at all. They only test a student's ability to reason logically and requires certain basic knowledge. A score of 100 means that a 6th grader, say, is operating at the intellectual level of the average 6th grader. That's all.

There are many different types of intelligence (mathematical, kinesthetic, linguistic, artistic, etc), and to pigeonhole someone into an arbitrary number for the sake of bragging rights is silly, at best.

I've also noticed, in my frequent travels across the intarweb, that there are damn few people who unintentionally score less than 100 on any of these online IQ tests... it's just another ploy to separate fools from their personal data.

So genious, why arnt you a brain surgeon or nuclear physicist then?
I prefer not to squish brains and while I was offered Navy Nuclear School and an associated rating, I was tired of school by the time I graduated HS, so I went with what I knew at the time-- electronics.

Personally, I'd just as soon go back to school and become a stellar-physicist, but there's no money in that.

Hey guys, I wasn't bragging. It was just an online IQ test. If you guys wanna try it go ahead. Type in Tickle IQ test on your search engine and take the test. It is a 12 page test that takes about 15-20 minutes. Just type in your name and e-mail address or a bogus one and skip past all the sponsor crap at the top of the page when finished and it will give you your score.

IQs are fun to take, but leave it that way.

Taken too seriously, they can be a way to separate the classes. Like was stated earlier, reasons for varied results occur all the time. The ability to take a test without panic is one. The ability to care is another.

I do not wish to be part of a group of people who, and it can only be seen this way, believe they are more intelligent than the majority. I refuse to look down from my lofty ladder. I would rather be on the ground while talking to others.

IQs are fun and teasable. You can keep groups like Mensa.

That said... I think this is the most intelligent post here!:p

I swear my IQ can vary like the boiling point of water, fahrenheit that is...
(As a bunch of HVAC peebs, you should all get this;) )
