I have not yet seen that one, so I don't know what it's for. You can X it, but it will just be replaced by a new one.

If it's really bothering, you, you can try an ad blocker.

Ads will be a necessary evil for the continuation of this forum. There are considerable expenses involved in keeping it live.

You can click the "X" to make it go away or the button to the left and tell Google that you are not interested or it is inappropriate and you will not see it again.

I honestly don't know what the rates are. If anyone is interested in advertising I have a contact I can connect you with.

It looks like the ones you are seeing there are google ads. The site owners also sell advertising.

Just click next to the X and tell google you do not wat to see the ad.

I would presume they get money from allowing google ads, but I'm far from an expert on internet marketing
