I have all I really need for routine service with my old trusty amprobe and have a cap tester. I just want something for testing flame sensors. Obviously it will have other features but I am not interested in knowing lunar phases, my GPS coords, and the hundred other features one can add on. Truthfully I was looking at one by Amprobe for about 50 bucks but fear that their quality may have gone downhill.

Probably going to have to pay at least twice as much for any other meter. I use fieldpiece. Trust them for meters but not for micron gauges or compound gauges.

Thanks guys. I'll check those. Reading reviews I found that getting fuses for the Amprobe was nearly impossible. I just checked an old Radio Shack analog meter I have at home. That was back when there stuff was not garbage. It seems to have a scale on it for those reading. I may try it on my unit and see. I have to find out what the readings should be.

Do a search, there are quite a few meter threads here.
I use a Fluke 116/323 combo kit. Has performed very well, and I like it's in a separate bag that I can keep spare leads and such in.

I really like the UEI pheonix meter it does temperature and everything else in the world but I think its only 125 bucks at RE Michel and it's pretty good quality I use mine for everything

Fluke is very proud of their products. Too proud, I have used all different kinds of meters in the past and will only use Field piece now. They are extremely durable.

Ditto on the Fluke 116. I have both this meter and the higher end Fluke 87V. I use the 116 98% of the time and works great and well priced.
Other DMM meters I have owned were Amprobe, Meterman, Fieldpiece and UEI.
My flukes have outperformed and outlasted the others.
You pay a few more $$, but worth it.

Meterman was bought by Amprobe. Amprobe is a division of Fluke. I just got back my Amprobe 33XR-A DMM. The address for Amprobe service is Fluke. They sent me a new meter rather than repair mine.

Thanks. Checking that Fluke at Test Equipment Depot. About 140.00 total. They have a good rep on reseller ratings as well as the Amazon site. I think I bought something once from these guys.

Fluke 902
Never have any issues have had one for four years. Fieldpiece has let me down too many times. I cannot trust them anymore.

I use two in the field..... a Fluke T5-600 and Fieldpiece SC260 with Temp clamp... don't use cheap ones you don't want to be second guessing your self in troubleshooting.

How has the field piece failed you ? I'm all for learning from others before mine let's me down when it matters most
No is one the best ones I have had...

I mostly use it to check micro-fads on capacitors and has a cool magnet on the back and I use it mostly for the temperature feature has a nice pipe clamp I check my pipe temperatures in unison with against my other clamp on my testo gauges for determining my super-heat and sub-cooling..

I use the Fluke T5 for most everything else..
