Hi guys, I've had 2 more guysquote. So far I've got 2 quotes for 2.5 ton unit and 2 for a 2 ton unit. the prices are all about the same with the 2.5 ton unit quotes coming in a little higher. I suspect either unit is OK, but I have no idea as to what constitutes oversize 1/2 ton, 1 ton, 2 ton? Also, I suspect that the larger unit will cycle on\off slightly more. If either is OK, what are the pros and cons of each?

Over sized tends to cause a higher humidity, so you can end up setting the thermostat lower to feel comfortable. Which leads to a high electric bill.
With 51 Cooling Degree Days per year, A/C ought to run only a few days per year.
Annual Operating Costs are going to be nearly 1000 X more for Heating.
