I understand the advantages of properly sizing an AC, but I want to check if newer technology such as the Carrier Infinity 20 AC with Greenspeed Intelligence will let me install an oversized AC but still keep the house comfortable?
The reason for this is to handle the occasional days here in California Bay Area when the temperatures goes beyond 100 degrees. Granted it is very rare and summers are usually pretty mild in comparison to weather in other places, but since I work from home, I want to be very comfy even when there's a spike in outdoor temperatures. :grin2:
My current AC is a old Carrier, still works good after 20+ years but I'm toying with the idea of possibly replacing it with something that will handle the rare spikes in temperatures in my area and keep the house a cool 70 degrees even when it is 109 degrees outside.
