Well, I found a great deal on a new Smith QuickBraze. Had no intention of buying it, but the local supply house had an open box, for a steal, so I bought it. Played around with it for a few minutes between jobs and it is fairly amazing. I like the single tip, works really well. I like the rosebud, wow! that thing puts out the heat big time! The twin tip is ok, I don't use them a lot, but they're not bad. The multi flame "C" tip is some different. I never got used to a captn hook, so I'm not a big fan of those kinds of tips. Any suggestions on how to get used to those tips?
I really was impressed with how quick you can heat up copper and get er done. That small torch looks like a toy, but when you light it up, it shows it's real potential, and it is definitely not a toy. I'm going to be doing an install later this week, 7/8"X3/8" so we'll see how it works on that, but from the little playing I did, it was no problem to get a beautiful braze. I've have been using air acetylene for a long while, and am going back to ocy/act for the quick heat, and have been using a small Uniweld and Harris torch, which work pretty well, but this tiny little torch would be a great tool to save space and it is soooo easy to get all around the tube without having to stand on your head or fight the hoses.
One thing I've noticed is I can't get anywhere near the pressures they recommend. I tried 8 psi on the single tip and no way, the act alone was a good 1/2" off the tip. I might have gotten to 8psi with the rosebud. The thing worked great and the handle never got the slightest bit warm, so it looks like it was set properly.
Anyone who's been using these have any good tips or tricks for their use?

That’s a pretty cool looking torch!

I use this one in a lot in my shop. Man the on off lever is so sweet! I would use it at work but I’m not gonna put that nice a torch on a company rig. But if you were self employed man I’m telling you it would save A LOT of gas. Instant neutral flame every time!

It's a tiny little torch, about the size of a Uniweld 71, but made from aluminum and uses really small tips. It uses Kevlar hoses that are super lightweight and very flexible. Don't let the small size fool you, it's a pretty darn good oxy/act torch. You can "work" the torch around the tubing, and move effortlessly with the light, flexible hoses. The torch is so small it fits into places you wouldn't think possible. I was fooling with an old fridge today and was able to braze some 1/4" and 5/16" lines underneath the cabinet without any problem whatsoever. I'll be trying it on larger stuff later this week hopefully. I don't know if it's the end all be all of torches yet, but it does look very interesting.

I have the smith quick braze set.

I only ever use the rosebud and the small single tip.

You will have no issues doing 7/8 with it.

Think Ive done 1 3/8 with mine with the rosebud without any issue.

Usually for anything bigger I opt for the full size torch.

But Ive been very pleased with this torch overall.

Sorry I cant offer any real help on the multi flame heads. Ive never really gotten a feel for them. The usage style contradicts my muscle memory of how to braze.

I think the c-tip would work well on a cased coil or similar where the heat needs to be right at the cabinet, but directed away.

I bought the torch years after I stopped doing resi installs, so Ive never actually done it.

That small tip is perfect for coil repairs on water coils and such.

I just did a 3/4"x3/8" install, I did one end with Hot Block on the valve and the single tip, brazed pretty fast and worked great. I did the other end with the rosebud and wow! it took like 30 seconds to braze. Holy cow Batman, this thing is pretty awesome..
