We just got a York 90% efficiency condensation furnace, and our next-door neighbors are complaining about the noise from the flue on the side of our house. Our HVAC contractor installed a Trane muffler, but the noise is still over 50 db (we have to get it under 50 to meet the mechanical building code). He also built a sheet-metal baffle box to cover the flue, but it's still 50 db. Someone suggested lining the box with acoustic duct liner, but we are having trouble tracking down something that would work. Any suggestions? We need to get it under 50 db to get the crazy neighbors off our back, and our contractor has run out of ideas. Thanks!!
