Hey guys i been working for a HVAC company for 10 yrs as a HVAC service technician. I am getting burned out on the driving, going to 5 different cities a day and being stuck in traffic all day. I have been at jobsites working with controls guys and i like their line of work. Most of the controls guys i work with are smart guys. I been wanting to look for a job as a controls technician. Do you guys know of any Controls training in Southern California? What are good Controls companies to work for? Siemens? Thanks guys

I used to hate Yaskawa drives as well, now the Z series are my drive of choice locally due to the local reps support and stock on hand. I use the software for all the major brands I come across locally and find life a lot easier that way. Also, watch out for the jumpers required on the Yaskawa drive communications terminations. Generally that is internal to the drives but now with these, that was a tough couple of hours when I did the first set without the BACnet manual.

Could be a local branch thing. Have seen a fair number of top guys all purged at once and replaced with the clueless in more than one area. Works out good for us. Most are well worth hiring.
