Before and after pictures. And yes since it was her house, so I did some landscaping to make it look pretty.

I guess I never took a picture of the inside when I installed it. These pictures are about 2 years after install date.

Looks alright except I don't like the 1" filters, or the extra drier on the big pipe, or is that thing a muffler?

Either way you did do a nice job with that retaining wall.

Honestly if I did it again today I would have put a media filter on it. The outside one is a muffler and it has to have 12" of straight pipe on each side of it according to the book.

I'm guessing that's a heat pump due to the raised pad and because otherwise a muffler wouldn't make any sense to be on a suction line. I dug up some posts talking about mufflers on suction lines, and I found that they are required on Carrier Greenspeed units. That isn't Bryant's version of one of those, is it? What type of thermostat did you get her? Did you go with the wi-fi touchscreen communicating one?

I'm not sure what they call the carrier version but this is a heat pump and its communicating. It is capable of pumping heat down to 8 degrees. And yes it really is. I have been over there several times when it's 10 degrees out and it's out there running like a champ. About 3 months after I put this in the touch screen wifi Tstat came out. I was kinda pissed but what can you do.

You must really like your mother in law thats some serious landscaping lol looks great though. I have the same heat pump at my house just carriers version. It rocks but I set mine for 15 degree change over electric bill way too high when that thing runs below 15 degrees.

Yeah, that sounds kind of like what Bryant calls their Evolution Extreme, which is a twin to the Greenspeed. I've never actually seen one of those in person from either brand, but it's known as the most energy efficient and advanced air to air heat pump that you can get. It's more than just a standard communicating heat pump.

If that's what you got there, it's a really nice system. Even if it's just a standard Evolution unit though, it's still a nice system. You're a good son-in-law. :grin2:

At least that's what I've been told, as I said I've never actually seen one before.
It's a very expensive system as well lol. She was fortunate enough to get it put in for free lol. But her bills will pay off the system from the full electric furnace that was in the house when she moved there

I was over there tonight and took some more pictures since I didn't have too many from before. I usually do not get over there to pick up my kids when it's still light out.

Things I wish I would have done is added a better kind of filtering system and ran pvc to the humidifier so you can't see the junk build up on the walls of a clear hose. Maybe I'll tackle that in the future.

How's the wife showing her appreciation?
lol well I put this in a couple years ago, long story short her dad passed away from cancer, her mom downsized and bought this house. Since it was all electric and had a junk system in it the least I could do was set her up with this bad boy. Her mom helps us out a lot by babysitting our kids so thats good enough for me. :grin2:
