This is for a duplex. Both sides of the house is identical. The duplex is like a mirror image of each other. This place is being fully remodeled. Windows, paint, kitchen, tile, plumbing etc. well these 2 1 ton minisplits cool the back room. My line set cover is actually a gutter down spout only cost 8$ for a 10' length. I cut a slit down the back all the way down the center. Then you peel open the gutter to fit it over your copper lines. It's better then paying 80$ for the mini split line cover kit. The air handler we covered once we tested the units operations. Once all construction is done. We will unwrap it. We installed the disconnect boxes and ran the emt conduit. It turned out looking clean. I think but I'm ok if someone disses it I can handle it.

The bottom picture is upside down. But it's showing how We covered the copper line set with the down spout material as the line set passed through a closet before ending up outside.

@anthonyac1 You may want to consider removing the traps in the PVC drains. This can/will create some unwanted side effects such as water not draining properly. Otherwise, it looks good!

They will freeze up and crack. As for the gutter hiding the lined this is how it was done years ago. Looks good to me, but why the hard pipe drain anyhow?

I don't install to many minisplits, actually I don't do many installs of anything really. I have The pvc straight pipe in the trucks so I just used that. As far as freezing the drain line. I'm located in south Florida.we do not get very cold winters. I never seen snow in real life. As far as the traps causing the unit not to drain properly I never knew that. Im curious to know why it causes the water not to drain? Maybe if you use that flex drain hose it will sag then create a 2nd trap. In that case yes the water won't drain due to an air pocket between the 2 traps.

The drain seems to be very sensitive to anything that slows or blocks the draining process. It's why I always run PVC as my drain and not flexible/vinyl tubing.

Whenever I,m uncomfortsble with the draining issue I add a vent in the piping and problem resolved
just a tee and a stub up for a vent

I email mittsubishi and this was there reply regarding the traps. I asked why but they didn't really say why except that it can cause an issue with drainage. I guess that's the response you get when a lady answers your question! Hahahahaha j/k

we have to go back in about 3-4weeks to remove the plastic from the minisplits. Also clean the coils on 2 package units but that's once the place is all done. I will then remove the traps from the condensate drain lines. I appreciate the information. Yes the exterior of the house but the owner is going to remove the awnings and I stall new windows then paint the exterior of the house.

Do you not level the ground out before slapping down the pad?
In the picture the condensers may look not level but they are. Also the ground in all lumpy in that area. Or maybe you are refferring to the space that you can see under the center of the pad right at the front edge? The pad is sitting on the ground almost 100% it just so happens that there is a dip in the grass there. But to make life easier I'm going to keep a small shovel and a pick in the truck to loosen up the high spots then the level the dirt/top surface.

Hahahaha nice! I would have really gotten a chuckle if I got your call transferred to me
Hey Jeff so I'm guessing your one of the tech support guys for mittsubishi. Is that so?? If so that's pretty cool. Also would you happen to know the lady who answered my question through email?? She might get pissed at me. Hahaha anyways I appreciate your input. Thanks

Yes I was referring to the space underneath. I always use to clear the area of grass and what not dig down and have the pad recessed into the ground at least an inch. Just makes it look like a cleaner install then plopping down a pad and slapping a unit on it

I can't really tell by the pictures but the power feed should be looped down somewhat to keep the rain from running down to the terminal cover box. I realize the wire terminal are above but any time a line in exposed to weather (rain) any tubing, conduit should be heading down hill to let the water run away from and not into.

Your right. After you mentioned about slopping down the pad. Having a small pick n shovel nothing to crazy would have life easier on this job it was a slight pain to shim and adjust the pad with the lumpy ground. I rarely do installs but on my next one I'll have a fold up shovel thingy making.

Basically your saying I should have a drip loop/ dip. But Behind the plastic cover the wiring makes a 90 degree . Then goes up about 8" where it terminates into the actual electrical section.
