I have been working on a manitowoc ice machine model #qm45a sreial#o6o951475.The problem I am having is the board has a #i alarm in it which means the machine took one hour to make a load of ice . When I first looked at this machine someone had screwed with the thickness ajustment had it set all the way down touching the freezing plate. I reset it to the proper thickness the ice machine now makes perfect ice. It will make three loads within a hour but on the third load it shuts down on the # 1 code. My question is there any way to get this code out of this machines board or do I just need to buy anew board. Any advice would greatly be welcomed on my part.

Did you really sit in front of the machine for an hour?
Most the time for me the water level is too high and every now and then it will siphon all the cold water and add fresh or the drain is clogged and will not break the siphon. Take the little plastic cover off the drain siphon and the water level should be set about 3/8 down from the top of the tube and check for a clear drain.

Some things doesn't add up here. ???

1. If the ice thickness probe were touching the evaporator grid as you stated, the system would have gone into harvest (after the 6 minute lockout), eventually resulting in a safety limit #2 for excessive harvest times.

2. Are you sure the machine was shutting down on a safety limit #1 after the third harvest within an hour? If it did, then I would say there's a problem with the board because it's not supposed to do that under any scenario. Did it do this more than once? It might have been an intermittent bin switch shutting the machine on full bin.

This machine was brought to me from a local church , It a small machine so I set it up on the counter plug it in hooked the water to it put drain in a plastic trash can . It was turned off on the toggile switch . I turned it on it run for a few minutes then went in to harvest I checked the harvest switch thats is when I found the switch touching the evaporator plate. I ajusted the switch to factory specs. It started and run just like it was suppose to it made 3 loads then shut down I fliped the switch to off then back to on it blinked one time. It has continued to do this for as long as I have had time to watch it which amounts to about a half a bin of ice Mike.

Are you sure on the saftey code? Depending on the board this code will only come up after 3 or 6 hours ,not 1 hour.At any rate, you would need at least 3 consectutive cycles of ice not dropping in one hour to get this code. Bad bin switch or board by what you have given as info.
