I'm new to this forum and here my story. need some advices / ideas

I have LG GR-262 fridge bought 2007. worked well and it developed intermittent compressor not start issue. then OLP trips, next 1 or 2 time compressor starts. 2 weeks ago it completely died. measurement of coils showing short between running and start coils. compressor was NR62LBJG
A technician replaced compressor with MA62LJJG compressor. parts dealer selling this model as replacement for NR62
There was a block in capillary. it was unable to clean. so technician installed new capillary tube. 5 days ago I bring fridge to home and it worked.
today morning I hear fan sound but not compressor sound.
compressor is not running and OLP tripped. it repeats
then I try to manually start - nothing
after few tries, compressor sarted once and then it run 30 minutes. next time again no start
I tried several times, even after few hours to cool down. - nothing
what can be the cause for this ?

I've noticed following after new compressor installed:
Compressor was heating slightly higher than other fridges. but same temperature was there with old compressor too.
cycle time (at medium setting/ minimum in freezer) 40-60 minutes. off time 15-20 minutes. ambient temperature 30C, half loaded fridge. empty freezer

This unit has a digital thermostat/ defrost circuit. all these works well.
input voltage is 220V no changes.

Short between start and running terminals? Like continuity? If this is true, please call a professional over to diagnose the issue properly.

Also, q cap tube being blocked might have been the original problem. Find a tech who will test continuity in the refrigeration circuit before evacuation. Any time a compressor is suspected to be bad, all possible reasons should be tested before introducing a new one

Start coil resistance is 18-ohms, Running coil is 10-ohms. separately. when I check resistance in two coils together (two terminals) resistance showing 19-20 ohms instead of 28-ohms.

Fridge was cooling fine till first compressor died. and technician checked for block in tubes and said no block. but after new compressor installed, pressure was not increased. then there was a block in capillary. it was unable to clean. he installed new capillary tube.

Update:
I was able to start the compressor with large capacitor instead of PTC
technician now saying that compressor is under powered and then overheat.

Are YOU the technician?

It sounds like more problems down the road. You shouldn’t need to hard start a new compressor. I believe LG compressors have a 90 day warranty, and the place I work for has a 30 day labor warranty. I’d get it sorted, the sooner, the better

On a 15 year old compressor replacement?

Who does a compressor on a domestic refrigerator unless it's a SubZero ?
Not to name any names but I know a guy. In fact I know him really well sometimes I talk to him in my head.

I replace domestic compressors. Most of them are home warranty claims, but I have done a couple collect calls. General rule is if you can repair for less than half the cost of a a new unit, and you like your unit, it is worth repairing. I don’t know if I’d put that much money in a 15 year old refrigerator though.

R600a, I didn’t realize until earlier today that you were an appliance guy too.

Yep. I have been doing it for 3 years but I really started doing a lot last year. Its been great since I quit working on RVs. I lost more money than I ever made on them.
