It'll be weird watching Jr. and Gordon on the same team. I wonder if Jr. will lose fans? It seems like most of his fans (including me) don't care for Gordon too much.

And all you NASCAR haters should just stay out of this thread and finish watching the male beach volleyball finals.

I think he will lose some of his fan base, I dont think I will really care what he does now, going to Hendrick is like selling out in my opinion. Rick Hendrick should still be in jail now anyhow, Jr to HMS sucks if you ask me.

Im done with Jr. as far as Im concerned he sold out. Cant believe he wants to team up with cry baby gordon and whinney jimmey. I guess he wanted to get as far away from Teresa as he could , childress and her have merged engine programs This really sucks...

So you guys would rather jr stay where he is or go to another team and finish 10th instead of going to a place where he has a chance to win. That makes no sense. I think he made a smart business decision.

Why is it that no one likes Gordon?

He wins races seems to have a good attitude so whats the deal?

Folks don't like Gordon because he's a pretty boy, he's not a "good old boy", and I believe a lot hate him because his success came so fast. He didn't really "pay his dues" like so many other drivers have.

Maybe if he had a wreck and got a limp when he walks. Maybe a tattoo or chewed tobacco. He should say things like Shooooo nuff, Yeeeeeeeeeeee haaaaaaaaaaaaaa and I de clare.

What really constitutes paying your dues? You suck for a long time then get good? I am not a diehard like some of you but I watch occasional races. I don't see why people hate him for being a dam good driver right outta the gate. He has whined about a lot of stuff and I can see people not liking the whining, but not liking someone just because he is good doesn't make sense. I absolutely despise the yankees but I can appreciate the quality players they have. (did I really just say that?) :D ;)

Jealous. Everybody was mad 'cause he was beating the field often in his early days. Then they called him "gay"(Rainbow Warrier). He had a hot wife. I just think alot didn't like Earnhart Sr. losing.......and Gordon never was one to get upset and throw a temper tantrum,or cuss out the news media. Too civilized for Nascar.

He's a stud...who else would jump out of his car and start pushing people around while still wearing his helmet? I'm sure he'd be able to backup real fast...

He's a winer...especially when he gets pushed out of a race from one of them thar racin' deals...

Waltrip had the same deal. Started beating Petty,Allison,Yarburough, and Pearson.Nobody liked him.Till he got wrecked by Rusty. He And Cale used to go at it in the papers all the time. It was hilarious. Nowdays Nascar is too watered down, too many races, too much tradition eliminated in the name of money. I watch Daytona and that's about it.

It takes more than a driver to win races. JR can win but he doesn't have the extras behind him. Hendicks is all about every aspect of racing from testing to aerodynamics, to ALL of his teams communicating to get the best finishes for all of his cars. He has progressed to the point that, the work during the week gives the best chance of victory on race day. He has built the most powerful organization in Nascar as of yesterday. Today, his organization put ALL of NASCAR on Notice.......The next couple of years belong to him.

How can you say that? He's been racing stuff since he was a kid, and when I say kid, I mean like 5 or 6 years old. He started in go-carts and worked his way up in each and every type of racing that he's been a part of. Midgets, sprints, Grand National (Busch), NASCAR. He's just a natural talent, so what if he looks pretty, so did Mohamad Ali (or so he thought).
