Really had it with the unlimited strength policy files required for 3.8 . Has anyone downgraded to 3.7 from 3.8? I have 2 sites that are still running at the 3.8 POS level. 1 site is running N2 and another CCN. I copied both stations into my 3.7 and checked for errors at the application director and both look OK.

Am I in for any surprises? I was hoping to delete the station from the Jace and commission/copy the station from my 3.7 from my machine. Is there any better or more successful way?

Why not upgrade to 3.8 update 1 (3.8.111.2) that handles the unlimited strength files much better, plus you not use the Java web start feature that removes the browser from the equation.

According to JCI : Our current focus is the FX 14.1 release with the FX80. Then, we'll recompile our FX Release 6 base for Niagara 3.8u1.

We've been running 3.8 and using the Hx web profile to avoid Java plug-ins and the unlimited strength policies. Takes a little more tinkering to create a UI but it bypasses all of the JAVA headaches for now.

It is enabled by default in 3.8.111.2, once you go to the login page with a browser there is an option to use web start.

Distech hasn't released that version yet it seems. They are painfully behind the curb when it comes to Niagara releases.
