Anytime I ever touched one of these (LENNOX) THINGS..

I always need to get to suttin...even JUST TO CHECK A SMALL THING....but to do it.. I HAVE TO REMOVE almost AN ENTIRE SYSTEM.

WHY?? is my first question ??? ////lol

2nd and main one is this......

Lennox unit
Model # 6CSO6 - 036 - 90 - 3P
Serial LOOKED like LG600C 06284 not sure on these digits though

Anyway..I need a direct spark igniter....THATS ALL for this. When I call anywhere from Grainger to Johnstone supply...I get the same answer of..............

"We have to contact lennox on the specs for that., we'll get back to you within 48 hrs."
48?????

Serviceability of units in the field seems not to be on the radar of many manufacturers. I bet this would change if some of the design engineers had to spend a season servicing installed units for a season.

It will probably be a whole new ignition kit and wiring harness too...with instructions that cover 10 different models and 10 different new diagrams you stick on the door.:gah:

I order Lennox parts online and usually have them in 48hrs.

part number for the ingnition module is 49w66, the ignitor electrode itself is a 80k09, this parts fit the gcs16-036-90-3p machine with a serial date code in 03 that was the best i could come up with given the above numbers, the parts are also available in all of the parts centers in the southeast (thats all i get to see ) and in the north american parts center in marshalltown iowa, hope this helps you

It seems Lennox is a PITA to deal with. I've had problems getting parts in a timely manner several times. More than with anybody else. I had a lady request a Lennox the other day. We put one in about 8 years ago and she has had no problems out of it. Her 2nd floor Lennox is 25 years old with no problems until the other day when the gas valve died. She opted for a new system for that one rather than fix the old thing.

Lennox would not like/help you anyway because you could not get the correct model number.

You could tell the owner you cannot fix the Lennox. :grin2:
ha?

Tommy, are you looking for the "blue box" that the high tension lead is fed from?

It should have the number of seconds of prepurge and the number of retries printed on it.

UTI now makes them.

Not a fan of lennox or carrier furnaces when it comes to service. It is freaking pain just to clean the dang flame sensor on a lennox...

carriers 80% line is the easyest thing to work on,the highs are not so bad...way better than rheem

I am thinking you never gave them the correct model number. Closest I could guess would be GCS16-036-09.

The serial number you gave is not much better. A typical Lennox S/N would be 5903DXXXXXX.

If you do not give good info, you will not get good info from the parts man.

So tell me why you hate Lennox again?

I hate Lennox too

The design engineers at Lennox all must have gone to the HVAC school of Engineering and Sadism. Every nut, bolt and part a nightmare to remove and replace. Not a Lennox dealer? Good luck in getting a part right away at a decent price.
Replacing a gas valve on a Goodman, Payne, Rheem, or Carrier furnace? 30 minutes tops. On a Lennox? About 2-3 hrs.

Lennox can suck an egg (nice version). Every time I get a Lennox furnace repair thats not an igniter or something easy its a huge PITFA to get the part. They have 1 distribution location in the greater seattle area, the entire area... And to add insult to injury they are dumber than a brick. Last time I needed a part I called them up and waited on hold for 25 minutes, meanwhile I was driving down there. I showed up with the phone on my ear and saw the 2 derelicts shooting the breeze behind the counter. They made me stand there in disbelief for about 30 seconds while they finished their story about so-in-so's baby mamma until they acknowledged my presence. I informed them that I was waiting on hold for the last half hour and that they didn't look very busy, she told me that I probably called the wrong number, I informed her that its indeed the right number and she just shrugged, no apology just attitude. They didn't even have the part and I had to wait for 3 days to get it and it was 25 degrees outside, way to go Lennox. I will decline a Lennox repair and eat the trip charge if its not something easy. I always laugh when I lose a sale to a Lennox dealer, have fun waiting for 3 days in the snow praying your pipes don't burst sucker...

Edit: They also lost my account information and I had to bring them back an ORIGINAL business license, all the way across town... Retards

Parts are easy to obtain around my neck of the woods, I just don't like the design of some models...like the Whisper Heat. Some Carrier models can be a PIA as well....like having to remove the GV to change the ignitor.

You got that right! I found out after almost losing a long time client that Lennox dealers get a major price break on parts over non dealers. That is huge when you are talking about already expensive oem boards and inducers.
