Here, let me get a drink . . . Ahhh . . . There we go . . .

What was I supposed to put on the invoice? Something like this:

"Found cover for Husmann condensing unit robbed and glued to top of A/C, then weighted down with cinder blocks robbed from satellite dish, restricting 100% of air through A/C condenser. This may have stopped rain water from entering store, but it also caused catastrophic failure of the HVAC equipment.

"Cut silicone, removed cinder blocks, removed Hussmann cover and restored air flow through condenser. Compressor may have received internal damage.

Found oil dripping out of discharge shrader cap due to deteriorated rubber gasket. Topped up charge, did not leak check. Installed solid brass shrader cap. Recommend replacing unit."

You think that would that have been better received? LOL.

Saturday, so it was overtime:
Time on job: 1.25 hours. Travel time: 2 hours [one hour each way]

So modest

Heh heh, good call. But I think those TEV's are a unitary device. Not positive on that, but I know I've never taken one apart in three decades!

Might work just fine.......I'm sure they put the dime under the power element.

Yeah, hopefully there's not another place like San Francisco, it is a very strange place. For example, had a call there a couple of days ago. Check out the photo below. The copper is from the walk in. I'm guessing the un-filtered PVC drain is for the A/H's above the T-bar.

But check out the filtered drains. I'm guessing that's from the soda and coffee machines. Store is about four years old. So here's the way I see it . . . You can go into the bathroom and put un-filtered pee and crap into a sanitary sewer, but you need to filter sugar water and coffee (?).

It was some years ago before everyone had cell phone cameras so no picture.
I was sent to look at a computer room on the 8th or 9th floor of a building. I don't remember all the details but it was a room with Halon for fire suppression so walls were sealed up all the way to the deck above. Some genius had installed a 3 ton packaged unit above the t-bar ceiling wedged up between the cast beams of the floor above.
The worst part was the office wanted to try to duct the condenser to the ceiling outside of the Halon area.

dang , i hate calls like that .undo someone elses stupid and let the callbacks begin. would guess water entering building was reason for roofing it over ,there not being a trap or even drain line out the unit. surprised the cond. didnt have oil dripping off it .its probably had a pretty rough life with that quality of service.time for the crane,
