This question has been asked numerous times but never answered. Does anyone know how to check what firmware is on the Trane XL950 thermostat? I can't find it anywhere. Apparently Trane has prevented customers from updating the firmware, but I can't even find it in the installer menu. I found a website and downloaded version 4.0.1, but doesn't appear you can update from an SD card anymore. Thanks.

Tried to install firmware I found online which is version 4.0.1 but it didn't work. I called Trane (888-872-6360) who transferred me to Nexia (877-288-7707). Nexia at first said I had latest firmware version (4.0), but after I pointed out I was sure there was a newer firmware, they confirmed that newest is 4.0.3. They said I would have to talk to dealer. I told them I already spoke with dealer and they had no idea how to do it. He said there was a chain of command they could follow and download from a Trane website. I assume they'll have to talk to the local Trane representative.
If anyone knows what Trane website they're talking about and can download the firmware and email it to me, I would REALLY appreciate it. Thanks.
