Got sent on a call to Finish up a AC at a house for one of my company's commercial accounts employees. This guy is involved in commercial construction, but hadn't worked in residential and decided to be the general on his own house. He got hooked up with a hvac guy who seemed like "a real nice guy" , did about 80% of the install then no show and no response to calls. When I saw the work I know why, looks like a sheet metal man without any service know how. The job was about 2200 square feet on 2 levels and the system was a 115,000 BTUh 90% Amana and a 3 ton AC, furnace probably about twice as big as needed AC about right.

Check out the skill and care used to secure the EXTERNAL EQUALIZER to the coil tubesheet with the sensing bulb clamp.

Took 4 hours and 2 oil changes to get this system below 1000 microns, finally got to 500 and hold for 20 minutes. I could go on for another page with the problems on this job, but I'm a slow at typing

WTF??? Was that guy STONED or just STUPID?

How did it even hold a vacuum with the equalizer tube to the open like that? Or did you fix it first by connecting to the suction line where required and mounting the sensing bulb with that strap LOL!

Probably both.
Fortunately the original installer never got to putting the system on-line before disappearing. he also had wired the control circuit to the condensing unit so it never tried to run (connected C from stat to Y1 for CU then common back to C at furnace control board.

Maybe they hired the installers we used to have that did THIS fine job.

Remember THIS mess I had to clean up?
In this case the sensing bulb was strapped to sense ambient ATTIC air ???

Now on your unit the dipsh*t thought the equalizer tube was the sensing bulb???

Like I said....

I found a 9 year old amana set up almost identical to the first pics. The equalizer tube wasn't secured to anything though. Just kind of hanging near the access port. Funny thing was that it didn't really leak that bad. Not nearly as bad as the coil was at least.
