I recently installed a mini split in my garage. I ran the lines and electrical and now im vacuuming down the lines. I've run the pump for 15-20 minutes twice and maintained -30inhg for the entire time. Then I close the valve shut the pump off and wait 30 minutes to and hours. After an hour I noticed that its risen to -20inhg. Is this normal for a mini split or do I have a leak somewhere I missed. I don't want to release the refrigerant if this is a leak. Can any help? Thanks.

Yes there is likely a leak. Standard practice is to pull a vacuum to less than 500 microns and it does not rise above 1000. If you hold under 1000 for 10 min the system is usually said to be leak free.
Best way to find the leak is pump dry nitrogen into the system to whatever the manual states. Some say 600 psi some say other number. Once there is pressure you use leak search bubble spray and spray in on joints. If it blows/forms bubbles that is where the leak is.
