Well, the tech failed to show up today, which makes twice now. Again an earlier appointment apparently ran over. I am going to try one more time to schedule a service call and will update you guys as to the outcome...

Thanks,

Sonic

Tech finally showed up today. Just as predicted "Everything is fine". <eyeroll> No adjustments made.

Now, you guys figure this: How can you have a chase so filled with well over 10 gallons of water such that a 30 foot lineset is completely submersed and yet the charge is still "fine" after the water is removed (in other words needing no adjustment). This in my mind almost defies the law of physics. Also, I asked about the vibrating line at the AHU, about why there was so much traffic going on inside. Tech says "oh, I work on these all the time, this is normal". Well, again, it seems to me the only way you'd feel anything is if there is some kind of gas vapor mixing in there with the liquid otherwise you shouldn't feel or hear anything flowing through there to speak of. And again, of the two-dozen various systems I've checked out, I've not felt anything like mine so far. Definitely can feel a lot of traffic going on. Asked if it could be something in the refrigerant such as non-condesables, nitro or whatever. "Oh no, I'd notice that on the guages, they'd be bouncing around." Again, I'm not buying this. Without knowing much about details I'm willing to bet it is very possible to have small amounts of contamination enough to cause a compressor or TXV to behave roughly without it showing up on guages.

Anyway, I've got about a dozen measurements from today's service I can share with you guys. When I get a chance I'll transer them in here, maybe put them in one of the other main threads that goes with my system woes and then put the link in here.

There is one thing I'm not debating though, the system has not ran the same since the TXV swap. That is a fact. Looks like I might need to get another company out here, at least to grab that line on the AHU and verify if that is indeed "normal" or not.

Why don't you just rip it out and start over if your not happy with it?

I remember someone I went to last fall.... guy wanted to tell me how to do each part of the job. I walked away from the customer... as did 13 other contractors (HO told me I was the 14th person out). Glad I did... :)

We've had a few customers like that. And normally we are fairly patient and will answer the majority of the customers questions and/or concerns. BUT then you get that customer that knows how the AC system is supposed to work cause he read it on the internet or his cousin's neighbor's son in law's uncle told him it needed to be done this way.....Gotta love customer service....:gah:
