I installed my HVAC Infloor heating system several years ago. I am considering coverting to glycol. Are there advantages to changing over?

Yup, the freeze point will drop. And instead of freezing solid, it turns to slush.

I am sure there will be changes I will have to make to the system like converting from the fresh water source. What else if anything will I need to change or convert?

why do you want to convert to glycol?

I live in an extremely cold climate and want to travel during the colder months. There could be power outages causing freeze ups.

Be prepaired for a drop in output 10% or more

Install a freeze alarm system instead and give your preferred contractor access to your house in case the heating system fails.

Don't add glycol to prevent freezing. Only to prevent bursting. You don't have as much of a decrease in BTU output that way.

There isn't much a contractor can do during a power outage.
