Condensate Pump Vent Pipe leak

what does it mean when lots of steam and dripping water is coming out of the venting pipe that extends from top of the condensate pump? the pump seems to be working

should there be a pressure relief device to avoid leak of steam?

its a small 5 section steam boiler that is losing about 10 gallons of water per day

Sounds to me like a textbook hot trap....I would investigate which trap is malfunctioning and get is repaired/replaced ASAP, go from the condensate return backward until you find a lower condensate line temperature. :.02:
