Im looking to purchase an analyzer this weekend. Ive got my eye on the new fyrite insight and the pca2. The guy at johnstone told me testo is way better and bacharach isnt as reliable.

Before i drop a grand or so...does anybody have any experience with the new bacharachs or can do comparisons between the two?

Just purchased Insight last month. I am happy with my choice. Bought the printer and air velocity kit as well. Pretty easy to use. The insight is field serviceable no sending meter to be tested and calibrated. Not sure about testo. Bachrach is close to my location as well.

I'd say the guy at Johnstone doesn't have a clue about combustion analyzers. :)

Both are good instruments but as of right now it's hard to beat the TSI CA-6130.
Great analyzer at a great price.

I'd be real curious what 'issues' the Johnstone guy has had with the Insight, I've been trying to break the one I've had since last July -- it keeps on working (and it was one of the prototypes).
If you don't need to measure NOx or SOx, go with the Insight.

I would take a close look at the Testo 327. It is a bullet proof unit, long sensor life, inexpensive, and easy to use.

If you do anything with modulating appliances, look at the 330-1 ll with the Easy Heat software. Combustion analysis with the online mode and lap top will change the way that you look at combustion. You will find more problems than you every imagined.

Where can I get some information on the new software Jim?

Just attended the TruTech Tool Symposium. Jim was using the Testo 330 with a lap top with the Easy Heat software showing the data logging capabilities. Being able to see the test results in a graph view was impressive.

Jim just sold me the Testo 330 just this week. Had the benefit of actually having one in my hands 4 weeks ago so definately wanted one so was not such a hard sell. BTW Jim, thanks for all the helpful links and help, I hope I can call on you again in the future.

Stomper had his NSI 3000 in his room but my Scott Mini SA is usually glued to me. No readings in my room and no readings on Friday. Saturday morning the alarm went off down in the lobby. This is good reason a personal alarm should be carried on ones self. You never know where co might strike.

I've been very happy with my Testo..................

Having said that, I've used Bacharach my enitre career and never had a serious issue with them. Both are well made units and will perform well. But the best one you can afford, this is one area where you get what you pay for.

I have had the testo 330-1 for about 3 seasons and no problems. It's good to be able to look at the stats from the year before when your at the same customer. I had mine with me at nci running next to a tsi and the tsi will read faster for light off. But other than that I respect my meter, it has been there when I need it.(tough work enviroments)

My vote is for Testo!

Someone smashed my vans window for my 327 a couple of weeks ago,
needless to say it was replaced by a 330 with the easyheat software.
After you see this technology at use you will never turn back

Ever since then my 317 hasn't left my side, Before i only carried it at work and the NCI at home.
Now i find myself carrying the 317 EVERYWHERE.
However and iv said it before, the scott mini seems way more durable than the 317:(
