Very cool. Nice wire policing. I recognize some of the devices, but not others. What protocol are they using to communicate between the different vendors? What front end is your primary interface?

Nice panel, congrats.
I see some innotech stuff, have they been making any in roads into US?
The carel controller is probably talking Modbus, and I assume you are going into BAS remote or fieldserver for translation.
and is that syxthsense bacnet room sensors/controllers?

pretty cool.

thanks guys! it has to look good as its in my kitchen! plus im very OCD w/ all my work
I knew this would happen , now I have to break system down, Im so lazy w my typing haha]
I have purposely mixed it up as much as possible with sole purpose of gaining modbus experience and especially bacnet integration

1) top 5 grey devices are Innotech maxim range ddc controllers, circa 2005 ,w 1 subsystem gateway allowing access TCP to network and service laptop, these speak on their own rs485 net comms and global comms, (for bacnet on maxim requires seperate gateway)

2) the blue device is Innotech`s new Omni controller! (which acts as my "head end " on this panel.) which hardware will be released by the end of 2016 and I have been lucky enough to have access to new controller early along with beta release software.
Native bacnet device IP/mstp, 2x ethernet connections with choice of using as ip switch mode or simply device ip in/out. all points are univ I/O!(14-20-or40) 3 x univ comms ports, this allows for backwards compatibility to maxim range with "global" block data, allowing you to monitor maxims onto , omni webserver which is like a work station in itself!can monitor up to 10 controllers. Ports can be eg 1) net comms 2) global comms 3) mstp , or eg 3 x mstp seperate connections to break up mstp.

http://innotech.com.au/DownloadFiles/Documents/innotech_omni_ds.pdf

3) middle right is contemporary controls BASremote sedona controller bacnet ip to modbus which will talk solely to altivar drive (top left, which is a small single phase to 3 phase 1/4 hp) , target is to bring the modbus point out of device to bacnet ip and rocknroll through sedona to omni, Have just completed the mapping registers and all talking there :)

4) fieldserver protonode ( thank you ORION!!) grey center has been unlocked w some support from its factory boiler manuf default so now i have a very powerful gateway, Its target is 1 x modbus rtu stopbit 2 to carel Ir33 univ ctrlr ,(white center)
1 x modbus rtu stopbit 1 , to 1x syxthsense modbus room controller (bottom left/top) and outwards bacnet/IP to omni port in switch mode

5) Contemporary Controls BASrouter bacnet IP to mstp (center black) will talk to 1 x sysxthsense mstp room controller( bottom left corner) , yes omni has mstp output , But as said I wanted to mix it up here.

6) finally all ethernet ports travel thru Contemporary Controls BAS switch outwards to laptop.

I think they have a winner here w Omni , solid hardware and if you read the data sheet and see how much you get built in for the price competitiveness its amazing , The Aussies were here in UK and Ireland for 2 weeks doing partner Omni technical training I was lucky to be included, and were Just in states 4 weeks , I think the plan is to start attacking consultants hard and heavy worldwide USA, European continent etc, I am happy I found and chose this manuf to work with excellent support without corporate feel, 100% designed and manufactured in Australia , not 1 chinese part. they are running well behind on release , but w 2million$plus in research you can surely see they want it to be perfect!
cheers, stan

Nice panel, looks like a good few frost beverages of fun making it all talk.

By the time it does, you sure should have a good handle on BMS communications. Just need a touch of lon...if you can still find any of it. :)

What did you have to do to unlock the fieldserver?

Thats the plan! I thought getting the programming licked was something! this IT and comms stuff frys my brain :D A distributor from neptronix helped me on team viewer through the webserver, to be honest he went soo fast I dont remember but it was on the text c-basic/java level, But now that it is what a powerful device!

Innotech have always produced an quality & easy product to use.

Two brothers actually started making these at their home in Brisbane Queensland Australia in the 80's & now they are a globally known & trusted brand.

Very nice work... I like the kitchen idea and when new techs are looking for inroads into the field... the best thing they can do is get their hands on a controller and start playing. I think if you dont really love this work... it can be a tough job... but if you love it... it is fun everyday... Thanks for posting

thanks, there`s two types of people , ones that look for dead easiest work/minimal effort and brainpower. and the other that strive for challenge and pushing themselves and get bored with jobs that don`t require that edge,
