DOT designations for bottle volumes and style, and valve/connectors.
E.G. Q, large acet bottle for oxy/acet set.
E.G WQ large acet withe collar around top welded to the tank

Who all knows what the "B" & "MC" stand for on the Acetylene cylinders????

Old terms meaning B for Bus(or Buick?)
and MC for motorcycle (or motorcar?)

Uni-Weld is one that makes a reg, for a B tank, that fits any small ox-acy handle.

Go to a welding supply company. They will have an adapter to fit your MC tank regulator onto a B tank.

I learned the Buick/motorcycle thing long ago. Also, the small nitrogen bottles are J tanks!

and the R is for respirator, it is actually an MC-R setup, with the MC being the acetylene alone, which was used for headlights on cars, and the B was used for headlights on buses.
