I ponied up for the appions and wasn’t impressed with the grip. Called them and was told to pinch, kind of a PITA to do this on every job. I do think it’s well built and use them for evacuation. I’ve learned to carry extra cores. When one gets stuck (most of the time) I just get out of the way and open the valve, the core usually finds a new home at that point. Anyone having better luck with some thing other than Appion?
The reason why we have had better luck with the adjustable tip is due to the fact that not all Schrader cores are the same size anymore. There have been so many different companies making schrader valves that some may be .5mm bigger or .5mm smaller etc. The reason why the cores are getting stuck is due to the fact that you are over tightening the Valve core tool and essentially deforming the o-ring which in turn will catch on the valve core when pulling out. If you have any more problems please reach out to me and ill get ya taken care of.

That is what I was trying to describe in my response.

I was guilty of over tightening the CRT on the port until I figured it out by mistakenly not tightening one time.

Funny how the "old tip" that is magnetic and made of hardened steel (I am guessing) has never had a problem with any schaders since I bought them nearly a decade ago. Hmm . . .

You made me look.

And you know what? You're right! Even now knowing they are not magnetic, it still feels like it is magnetic. I love it. The schrader removal part on the 15 works MUCH better than the one on the 19. I also take very good care of them, always putting new clean caps on them to keep them clean.

The old tips were not magnetic. I am glad you haven't had problems with them! But unfortunately, we had a lot of issues with them so we had to go back to the drawing board.

haha yea, there is a small O-ring in the tip that grabs the tip of the Schrader valve. This is also the reason why those older tips have trouble with some newer units with slightly fatter Schrader valves. (trust me, I get pulled from both sides of this debate all the time) lol. You also obviously take care of your tools, which you would be surprised at the majority of contractors who do not really take care of their stuff most of the time. I am an ex-Automotove technician, so I know how important it is to upkeep tools.

The main thing i cannot stress enough for EVERYONE on here and out in the field. PLEASE if you have any issues with your APPION tools, Call our office, Shoot me a PM on here, and Message our Instagram page. The one thing we want to be known for is no hassle and ease of contact.

You will not talk to a machine or recording if you call our office.

I will add after taking to appion about the rumble bee(G5). If you remove the valves the recovery machine smoothes out in operation. So even if it only saves me 2 minutes of time it's increasing the longevity of the reclaimer.

I had this issue for the longest time and I finally figured a work around. I found that I was tightening down the core removal tool too tight on the shrader port and I believe it was compressing the o-ring and in turn restricting the passage of the core coming out. I find I have better luck if I thread the tool on losely so it does not compress the o-ring too much and then remove it and as you remove it, wiggle the tool. Obviously you want to make sure you have enough threads holding on so that the thing doesn’t blow off and dump the charge. Since I started doing this, I find I have better luck though it’s still far from 100%.
