Update,
I have not smoked since I quit! Woo Hoo!

I still get cravings every now and then but they are fewer and farther.

I've been quit well over a year, and occasionally I still think "Hmmm a smoke would be nice" but the thought fades quickly. Actually smokers are beginning to really smell bad! I know in my heart of hearts I will never smoke again, and wonder how and why I started.....

I quit smoking about 2 years ago, however,

I took up an even worse habit, chewing. It is cheaper and I don't lose my breath after climbing tall buildings. I planned on only using it to break the cycle of smoke breaks and other associated patterns that I had developed over time. I wanted to transition from smokes to chew to the patch. I haven't got to the patch yet.

Good for you!!!! I'm going on 5 weeks with no cigs and it's not been bad but then I wasn't a heavy smoker any more just a persistent one.

The cravings will always be there. I used to see a friend once in a great while that was a 2-3 pack a day guy. He wouldn't touch one but I could see him drooling when I puffed away. Just don't take that 1st one or it's the slippery slope, man.
 
Tuesday night the wife and I both went to a hypnosis seminar to quit smoking. It's been since 5:30 pm on the 17th since I had a cig, just over 50 hours now. I tried the patch and cold turkey but something always happened and I started again. Hope this hypnosis works.
