He didn't want the "ugly" chimney liner cap and had a nice round flue in great condition so I used a masonry chimney adapter kit it's 6".

Beauty has it's price:) He didn't like the idea of PVC sticking out of his house either.

I did run b-vent from the chimney to in-between the transitions.

Love seeing someone else with the radiused inside throat. Great job, I suspect flue is oversized, but too lazy to pull up GAMA tables tonight.

You aren't supposed to reduce from the Chimney Adapter outlet size.

And as far as needing b-vent, here is table 5 of NAHA00401DH installation instructions

A few reasons, I would want to raise it above the furnace (poor airflow) anyway and it looks funkey with tin in-between, I don't like the factory's coil and the cabinets leak like a sieve here's a offset I put under my coils (it's a old one but it's handy).

Hmmm. Not sure that I like that. I will agree the cabinets leave a little to be desired. As many leaky coils as I have to change I am really glad 99% of them are cases and I don't run my flues out the top of the furnace. Changed 2 leaky aluminum ones now. Hopefully not the start of an epidemic.

You are probably right, I should just suck it up and use coil cabinets. Great, and to think that the aluminum coils were to be our savior.
