We did this install today. I didn’t find it to be overly remarkable, but the inspector was Very happy with it.

Sorry, yeah I should have clarified, I’m a little sunbaked.

This is a 1000 gallon septic system, shallow placement, with 450’ of single bag lateral

Ought to be able to grow some nice radishes there.

Maybe plant a grape arbor over it. Wonder what we would call the wine from those grapes?

Some call these "engineered systems" and I have seen leach fields a foot or more above ground level due to ground water. Not the coolest thing to have installed in front of your house after the old one dies and new one has to be a "raised bed"

My first thought was that looks too shallow. But then the last ones I saw were perforated pipe and gravel. Maybe a "few" Years ago.:rolleyes:

Interesting Raseri,

Here in Brown County, Ohio, they no longer allow "Gravel-less Leach Lines", & the System has to be the "Mound System".

They take all of the design away from us here. The soil scientist tells us what the perk rate is, asks if we're doing bags, domes, or gravel, then tells us how many feet we need and how many lines. unless it's considered an advanced system, then they just tell you exactly what you're building and where.

new york water is not as clean as ours is:)
Again, ::DD:

You didnt read the Maine DEP SWAT and Dioxin reports obviously. They even warn against eating the fish there because of toxic runoff, parasites, bacteria, viruses, and chemicals.

NY has it's problem areas, too. But it appears your entire state is contaminated.

18 years ago, "Gravel-less" was the Norm, & Sand Filters were Grudgingly accepted.

All Talk about the Mound System was like telling the Health Department "Hi! I'm a Convicted Rapist, & I'm dating Your Daughter!".

Then, "The State Powers" proclaimed "Ugh! Gravel-less Systems Bad!", ... So, "Sand Filters" became the Norm, & Mound Systems were grudgingly accepted.

Now, .... "The State Powers" , have decided "Ugh! Sand Filters Fail!", & the New Norm is the Mound System. SMH

All Leach line Systems that fail a yearly inspection by the local Health Department, are Condemned with the Owner being given an order to upgrade, & that applies to Sand Filters also.

Frankly, ... I Believe that it's just Big Brother, exerting more control in our lives, down to the level of how We Pee & Poop.
