the diamond plate is a nice touch. CSST wouldnt be my first choice for gas line. why black iron for the manifolds?

Some other company did the plumbing and ran the gas. I am changing it to black iron beside the boiler next week. Like to use the black iron manifolds for the rigidity. Never been a big fan of copper manifolds.

Ok, I'll nitpick:grin2:
Turn the pump heads a 1/4 turn. Grundfos spent a lot of money to design their logo.

On a more serious note, I hate it when the drip tube from a relief valve is soldered copper. You can't check for a slow weep. Turn the relief 180, use a 6" brass nipple and 90, then the drip tube. And the drip doesn't have to be wrench tight.

BTW, it took awhile to find that. If you ever need a job up here in the great white north, let me know.

3/4" relief, glycol system, relief was weeping, but there was nothing coming out the drip. The water was evaporating before it got to the drip tube. 17 hydrotherms, I can inspect the reliefs in less than 5 minutes. All the drips are hand tight.

That's a very good point. I hadn't really thought about like that before. Thanks for the advice... Can I make a compromise with you and sweat in a union on Monday?

I do love my job but love my family even more. We all know how much this kind of work takes away from personal things. My wife would make me move in to this guys basement.
