Somebody on here, maybe ummsott, worked on a tiny compressor like that for a wine dispenser at a grocery store or something.

What about little water coolers? What size would they use?

omg , compressors that fit in the palm of your hand . I recently worked on a danfoss dc compressor 12 / 24 , but these super tiny compressors may be a game changer for designers lol

I have heard of electrical boxes being cooled on paper machines.
Many wine chiller they sell with digital temperature setting uses thermoelectric. I heard sealed box electronics for use in extremely dust places use peltier as well.

This one is a lot more powerful though with 725 BTU-hr at 20F evaporator at 120F condenser, so its comparable to 1/5 to 1/4 hp fridge compressor.

I always wanted to build a little contraption to set the cut in and cut out temps quickly on a mechanical temp control.
Could you think me up one with a little pump like this :)

Yes YES...LOL. I remember now...

We service a nice restaurant/wine tasting place here in omaha. They have 2 locations in town and have numerous wine dispensing applications using those tiny tiny compressors.

They actually sent a rep from the manufacturer to train us on how to service them

Was the compressor the size of a household fridge like the picture I posted or was it fist sized?

What sort of temperature range are you talking about? Thermoelectric is notoriously inefficient, but you can easily control the cold/hot plate temperature with a PID type controller. If it's a 30F cut out, you would program it to quickly go down to about 35, and slowly ramp down until contact responds, overshoot a bit, and slowly reverse, then observe when it opens again.
