rotflmfao!!!

mr temporary contracting every dumbass on this board knows when you have a a coil on the return side of your blower your supposed to trap it!!! try reading one of the books that comes in your units instead getting on the internet and talking smack!!!

as to where i work, i work in chicago's north suburbs!!! alot of the stuff that you guys get away with in your local areas wont fly here!!!

no pex

no romex

no gastite or flex tite

no ductboard

all electric must be conduit and any greenfield used must be 3' or shorter

all whips to condensers must be metal inside, no premade whips allowed

flex runs 5' and shorter only, and thats only if you can get to them in a attic or drop ceiling, if you wont be able to get to them after construction then it needs to be all hard pipe and sleeve

all joints taped and sealed

about 20 years ago this area started having a big boom as far as construction, and the codes then were like they are in the more rural areas, which let any hack run wild!!! since then there has been drastic changes made to the local codes, and the amount of guys working out of there homes has gone way down!!! but the quality of the work has gone way up also!!!

(stepping off soapbox)

Sorry I misspelled Wirsbo. I'm sure Chicago is thee only place where Quality work is done.OOO and "Temporary Contracting" has tripled in size in the past 2 years because we do inferior work there Tinknocker.Hows your company doing?? Do you even work for yourself or just someone else's *****?? Man the only problem I had with you from the start was your BS attitude about its not quality because of pex. When Pex has become an industry standard.

i'm sure you and the other 2 employees are very happy there!!! ;)

as for me in the last 12 years ive worked for 3 companies never being laid off for a single day or ever having a less then 40 hour a week paycheck!!! i'm not going to complain!!! The other 7 installers, 5 techs, 4 girls in the office, 1 salesmen, and the owner, might but i wont!!!

You make it sound like anyone who works for a company instead of owning it is some sort of belly-crawling P-on. "Temp" people have been complimenting your work here left and right and all you respond to is the negativity or constructive criticism like you're all bent out of shape...Did you post here for peer review from respected members or just to brag? PEX rules; it's a great product with a chitload of uses. Your outfit does some nice work--above average even--happy?

No PEX! come on in to the 21st century. Do you still use copper for DWV.
Code in Cali says you still must because of union BS.

Code here says you must use cast through the wall for SDR until recently (last year). I can't count how many cast pipe I've replaced broken at the outside of the foundation, never replaced 1 PVC sewer line in munis that permitted it.

if everyone in chicago was using pex, then you would find yourself using it as well just to be competitive....or just walking away from jobs.

did he drop the electical down so the pump could reach the plug?

Oh , I have replaced quite a few SDR sewer lines, my freind!! They break just as well as CI does. And the roots get in just as fast through the gaskets, just like VCP... Sooo.....

ABS is just as bad. Gets crushed, warpes out of shape, and sometimes breaks at the glue joint...

Lets face it, no sewer pipe is perfect...

Ever see that stuff made of tar paper? Forget the name now.... Oh yeah, Transite!! Ha! what a joke....

just a thought , pex w oxygen barrier may be ok . If not , I would think boiler factory people would frown upon non barrier in floor or not. I have a plumber that wants to use it for baseboard becuse of cost ect. but in my case its an aluminum boiler , i dont think for me its a good idea. good luck.
