Three feet of water moved into my basement and burned up the mother board and blower motor of my furnace. It's going to cost so much to fix, I'm considering replacing it. I found a furnace new in the box with warranty on Craigslist for less than the cost of repairing my old one.
I currently have a Tempstar NTC6075FBG1, 75000 btu. I am considering replacing it with a Thermal Zone TZ92MSP070B30A, 70000 btu. I have an 800 square foot house.
From the specs, it looks like the new furnace is set up the same way as mine. The duct work will match up and it will fit height-wise in my low basement.
I am not sure about the a/c evaporator coil matching. There is a box attached to the top of my furnace, and the coil goes into it on the front side in the upper right hand corner. I can't find a model number on the coil, and I'm not sure what to look for or how to tell if they would be compatible.
I'm really just looking for any advice about this. I'm trying to keep the damage as small as possible financially.
