In light of the new GM commercials touting their cars that run on corn oil I would like to propose a proposition:
Tell farmers here in the good ole USA to put the corn in. Process all the corn oil we can for a few years and stockpile it until this technology is perfected. Then launch it full force!
This would do a few things for us:
1. Eliminate our dependence on foreign oil.
2. Eliminate the need for farm aid and government agriculture subsidies (some farmers are actually paid not to plant crops to prevent surpluses)
3. Eliminate the need to patronize( conduct wars for), fickle, middle eastern, terrorist supporting, oil producing, mentally unstable, governments
4. Eliminate the farmer’s burden. They scrape by financially most of the time busting their @$$ to put food in our mouths. Corn can be used for fuel even if it is not of premium quality so the variables (weather, temperature, pests) are less important plus there would always be a market.
5. Eliminate Exxon Valdese type disasters.
6. Eliminate hazards (corn oil fires?)
7. Eliminate the continuous search and survey for fossil fuels; corn is a renewable resource
8. Eliminate the memory of a 50.00$ tank of gas ( .35 per gallon sounds good)
9. Eliminate rich, lazy people that hate us in countries that hate us and make hard working people here rich instead.
