Guy I used to work for had separate charges for truck, vacuum pump, and torches. Once in awhile someone would complain, we'd just say that's how we keep our hourly lower, if we don't use that stuff, you don't pay. Another way to say it is: the first hour may be expensive, but every hour after that is cheap.

We also created a gas charge when gas was over $5 a gallon.

Can't remember for sure, maybe right before the crash of 2007/2008. Think I also heard about $5 in southern CA last year. Just today I saw as station advertising $4.75 per gallon.


When was gas over $5?

I just look for gasoline for under $3 per gallon. It's all relative really. Property values drive the cost of daily items and the wage paid out.
