How do i know if the walk-in freezer is deffective?.. The compressor run in short cycle, its take 15 min run and then off,. its a l'unite compressor with sigth glass.. in suction line goes 50 psig and high side was 295 psig, when i've look into my clamp tester, its 12 amp.. the comp. motor was in heat, after 15 min it will automatocally off,.. as ive shut down the unit and check the comp pin,.. there is no reading in common to running.. refrigerant is 404a with tev filter and sight glass, someone told that we need to replace a compressor.. i been doubt about it, i rather check the compressor without refrigerant, then it run normally with 4 amp. anybody.. is a compressor was deffective or not?

condenser clean ? what kind of condenser is this ? water or air cooled ?
sounds like the compressor is going off on overload.
Don't run a compressor with no refrigerant in the system. It requires the refrigerant to work properly.

Suction pressure is too high for a 404a freezer

Sir, condenser was clean, ill brush it, this a air cooled condenser.. overload protector won't off, only the compressor, it will resume about an hour.. the fan still running..

That's awful high head pressure. Are you a tech? Are there noncondensibles in the system?

checking a compressor is easy , close liquid valve , bypass low pressure switch if it has one , watch suction and see if it goes to 0 , then turn off compressor , suction should stay at 5 psi or close to it for a couple minutes

Maybe I misunderstood the original post... if so my apologies. I was under the impression they tried to run it without refrigerant, I was not telling them to do so.
