I have a Trane twx030c100a3 that is blowing the 30 amp fuse at the house panel. Service tech diagnosed the crank case heater as bad and tripping the breaker. He took the crank case heater out of the circuit and the unit appears to be running normally. He did tell me that the crank case heater is built into the compressor and cannot be replaced- I just have to replace the compressor.

Is this correct or is there some replacement crank case heater that can be installed instead of replacing the whole compressor?
