New detached garage with a bonus room upstairs. Single stage furnace, heat only. Not sure why he didn't want cooling. Bet he will next summer!! :grin2:
Turned out pretty decent. Roughed my electric, flues, and ductwork into the room before they put up drywall.

Looks good.

Not really an acceptable dirt leg on the gas line, not that you will ever have any problems with it. At least you piped it in hard pipe!

Very, very nice Jimmy. Looks exceptionally neat and clean.

Was that job inspected? Gas pipe would never pass here.

I sure it has been by now. Gas line will work fine. Entire line is a drip leg. Would have had to put the valve down by the floor, I don't particularly care to do that. Been doing a lot of garages lately it seems.
One from last week and another to do maybe later this week or the next.

single stage 90 in a closet

nothing wrong with his drip leg my furance has the same set up before the pipe goes to the gas valve.
has worked for the last 25 years with no problem:)

That gas piping would never pass inspection here either. In one city that I work in, it would be failed/tagged and the meter shut down. For 2 reasons..... 1) the improper drip leg..... must be at change of direction as per AGA and manufacterur specs. 2) the improper installation of the regulator on the back wall!.... There are 3 to 5 things wrong with that alone.

1 cannot be mounted on its side (AGA/manufacterur specs)
2 must have a union after it (code book)
3 must not have a change in direction for 5 inches after regulator(manufacterur specs)

cannot see these 2 for sure

4 must have shut-off before the regulator (code book)
5 must have drip leg before the regulator (code book)

Is that regulator a Maxitrol 325? If it is, then alot of this is covered by the instructions that come with it. I run alot of calls where the furnaces gas valve is locked up because the improperly installed regulator is pumping to high inlet pressure to furnace.
