Hello,

We recently had a contractor come by to install a heat pump system in our house. We agreed upon the following system.

Outdoor unit:
MXZ-3C24NA3-U1 (24k BTU)

Indoor units:
1x MSZ-GS15NA-U1 (15k BTU)
2x MSZ-GS06NA-U1 (6k BTU)

However, they installed the wrong indoor units. They installed 2x MSZ-GS09NA-U1 (9k BTU) instead of the 2x MSZ-GS06NA-U1.

This means I now have a system that has an outdoor unit capacity of 24k BTU and an indoor capacity of 33k BTU.

The questions I have:
- The indoor units exceed 130% of the outdoor unit, is that even allowed according to Mitsubishi spec? Does this void warranty?
- The 2 wrongly sized indoor units are in rooms that are less than 120 sq ft. Is there a downside of having a 9k BTU unit in such a small room?
- Should I complain and get them back here to replace the 9k BTU units with the agreed upon 6k BTU units? I assume that installing the wrong units that we didn't sign for must fall under parts & labor warranty.

The Mitsubishi combination tables approves of the indoor units you received.
However, as already stated, even the 6k units are much, much too big for the space. The units will heat and cool the spaces but there will be no appreciable dehumidification. The units can turn down in capacity, but as they do the indoor coil runs warmer and will not condense moisture.
What has the contractor said about the error?
