Presige 2 IAQ Problems

I have a Prestige 2.0 IAQ THX9421R5005 (2 Years old) and I find that it "losses its mind" from time to time. First sign is that it shuts completely down unexpectedly. Only fix provided by Honeywell is to reset to defaults and then reprogram. Just had to do it again today - UGH! Has anyone having similar troubles? Suggested fixes?
Other than the issue above it is a great unit! I just wish Honeywell would be more forthcoming as to how the control algorithms actually work, particularly when it comes to cycle per hour. Has anyone got a good reference?

More Honeywell Prestige Issues

I had to completely reboot my Honeywell Prestige with default setting again today. Issue this time was that the "Dual-fuel upstage time" while set at 30 minutes was not functioning. The upstage time is most important to our setup as I live in a cold climate (Canada) and set a large setback at night (for comfort) and wish auxiliary heat (a gas Viessmann boiler with EnerZone Duct Coil and Rheem Air Hander) to assist the heat pump to bring the temperature up to day setting. NOTE: I have the Prestige set as Electric such that both the heat pump and boiler will run simultaneously. When talking to Honeywell they say they do not support the above setting as I am not using TRUE Eclectic auxiliary - what a bunch of *^%$.

Is anyone experiencing similar issues or does anyone have any suggestions.

Ahhhh, that sounds like normal operation.

I have no idea how to read that diagram.

I can't help you with your wiring configuration, per site rules.

The point of adaptive intelligent recovery is so that you don't use emergency heat. Meaning it should start early to compensate for the extra time it takes. The upstage timer is for normal operation, not recovery.

I've put in IAQ's for like 7 years, prestige's since they came out. Never had the problem your having.

Anything under this appears on every one of my posts, and is called my "signature":

I was not asking for comments on my wiring diagram, rather I got fooled by your 2 wire "signature" - LOL. Thanks for your clarification.

You are correct, one normally avoids the use of emergency heat when using Electric emergency heat up due to $$$$ and therefore also avoids large setbacks.

NOTE: I have a gas Viessmann boiler for emergency heat which is most $$$ efficient so intentionally use it during recovery and I have data to show it is cost effective.

Also, I do not use Adaptive Recovery due the 5 C (9 F) nightly set back. Hence, “upstage timer” is most important to me as I want the boiler to work in tandem with the HP for a quick recovery.

As to my problem of the Prestige losing it's mind, even Honeywell says that have not seen the problem, but the suggested a "pull the battery, set defaults and reprogram" which solves the issue until next time. Ultimately Honeywell may replace it! Just asking if anyone has a similar issue!

Thanks for your thoughts. I know those wiring diagrams are not conventional as I did them myself to better understand the installation. But it is a most unique installation.

I do not think it is a wiring problem as it works 99% plus of the time but losses it's mind from time to time (only 3 time in the two years since installation). We have had a licensed installer out and together we have reviewed with Honeywell.
