Also McQuay is working on the 600 ton one each compressor will be a 300ton Magnetic bearing so two and you get six hundred three of the best selling points that I use are

1. Energy Usage .3-.4 PLV
2. No Oil what so ever
3. Much quiter then any other chiller on the market

I'd love to see the data on the .3 .4 plv after extended testing of a Turbocor we found that number to be a myth.
After reading some of the other posts I find it interesting to see that others have had compressors go Bang since we were told there were no other instances of this happening. It appears that is also a myth. It is a shame since the concept is good but who knows after some more R&D they may make it a viable product. It is quite till it goes bang, then its really quite.

Heres the deal about the BS about the Bang thing its pure BS one of is a McQuay Rep who is in contact with the factory daily and the other one is a McQuay service tech so

I THINK WE WOULD KNOW IF IT WHENT BOOM

but plain in simple MO NO NO TURBO CORE HAS GONE BOOM the other guy is a blanten liar end of story

WOW thats good to know Outside Rep cause after the fire deparpment left the lab they said they never had to put out an airconditioning fire befor either. I am so relieved to know that is was Not the turbocor that made the loud bang shortly befor the fire alarm rang in. I wish you could come and expalin to us how the top cover was 13 feet from the unit and the electronics were all smoked. Turbocor told us we got liquid r134A back to the compressor and thats why it went BANG! Opps sorry outside rep I guess it was may have been a pop or a knock or maybe a low rumble since the company line is that no no no Turbocor ever went bang.
I think maybe you should talk to some one other thatn the sales deparpment in canada to get the real story.

Oh and thanks for calling me and the other posters liars, very professional, hopefully you can tell them what went Bang on thier projects as well.
